The dsm-firmenich petfood business is a key supplier of vitamins, minerals, micronutrients, premixes, nutritional lipids, microbiome & taste solutions to the world’s leading pet food brands.

 

The Director Regional Sales, Petfood, NA manages a sales team of Key Account Managers, Account Managers, Inside Sales and Sales Coordinators who are responsible for customer relationships & regional sales of Petfood accounts.  Come shape, drive & deliver the regional sales ambition for the Petfood segment of our Taste Texture and Health (TTH) business unit.

 

This role currently reports into the Global Vice President Petfood and will, in 2026, transition to reporting to the Senior VP TTH North America.

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead a regional team to achieve over $90 million in annual sales, aligning regional strategy with global objectives and market opportunities within the Petfood segments.
  • Lead and mentor Account Managers, driving sales growth, fostering customer relationships, setting clear targets, and ensuring technical proficiency through ongoing training.
  • Align with the global team sharing market insights, customer feedback, and competitive intelligence and confirming financial performance and outlook for an informed global strategy.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities, and collaborating with business development on product launches.
  • Engage key global & regional customers to strengthen relationships by understanding their needs and ensuring high customer satisfaction and closely collaborate with distributors in the region to ensure their proficiency and approach is aligned with the overall global and regional strategy.
  • Prioritize regional sales activities, allocate resources, and make strategic and operational decisions to maximize revenue, manage budget, and ensure efficient team function in alignment with company strategy.

 

 

This position can be located in a US Home Office, with a preference for the Eastern and Central times zones of the US.

 

The salary range provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. This position is also eligible for bonuses and benefits, which are not included in the pay scale provided. Salary $153,300-$190,000.

You bring:

  • Minimum 10 years of sales management experience, ideally in a matrix organization, with a proven record of meeting & exceeding sales targets, motivating teams, and managing cross-functional and global relationships.
  • Relevant experience in sales/business management, and/or strategic marketing, with a solid knowledge of the Petfood and/or Food & Beverage industries highly preferred.
  • Must excel in managing complex, strategic accounts, including cross-functional collaboration, price negotiation, and customization, while navigating industry nuances and ambiguity.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and analytical skills, with knowledge of the food and beverage industry and willingness to travel (up to 50%) and adaptability to lead through change, manage multiple priorities, and drive growth in a dynamic environment
  • Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse sales team.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA is a plus
