Location – Delft, The Netherlands
As an Expert Operations (EO), you coordinate and support all activities needed to secure continuity in the current and future laboratory infrastructure of Science, Research & Innovation Delft. You collaborate with budget holders (e.g. Center Directors), suppliers, science experts, users, technical departments, SHE&Q experts and procurement to ensure safe and smooth execution of all processes related to preventive and corrective maintenance, modifications and (CAPEX and OPEX) equipment investments.
Your key responsibilities
- Ensure the continuity of laboratory infrastructure within the Science Research & Innovation Laboratories Delft by managing all relevant processes, which are mostly related to equipment: preventive and corrective maintenance, modifications and (CAPEX and OPEX) equipment investments.
- Actively manage the interface between the centers, suppliers, procurement, the Infrastructure & Services (I&S) department and SHE&Q experts.
- Coordinate the overall Management of Change process, including challenge, progress control and regular alignment with all stakeholders involved.
- Engage the compilation and updating of a multi-year plan on investments in equipment, in collaboration with the respective Center Directors and science experts.
- Check and report on actuality and availability of SHE studies concerning equipment and lab installations.
- Frequently align with budget holders (Center Directors, R&D Managers) and the S&R controller on budget status, planning and priorities.
- Execute progress control and reporting on actions from MoC’s, incidents, audits, SHE studies etc.

You bring
- Broad experience (>5 years) within a (life science) R&D community in combination with life science education and level of thinking and working at HBO level.
- Knowledge of lab equipment, maintenance processes and financing.
- A good level of speaking and writing in English (and Dutch) and easy connect to people.
- Preferable a full VCA certificate (Veiligheid, Gezondheid en Milieu (VGM) Checklist Aannemers).
- Comfortable with working with many stakeholders across different functions and fields.
- A proactive attitude with a strong sense of ownership and high SHE awareness.
