Location: Delft, the Netherlands
We are looking for a skilled Cloud Engineer with at least 5 years of experience in AWS to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) and a strong foundation in cloud architecture, automation, and infrastructure as code. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable cloud solutions, working closely with data engineers, software developers, and researchers in an R&D environment.
Your key responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure using AWS CDK and other infrastructure-as-code tools

Automate cloud deployments and operations to ensure scalability, security, and efficiency

Collaborate with engineers and researchers to translate requirements into scalable cloud solutions

Industrialize existing solutions while promoting and applying cloud best practices

Monitor, optimize, and ensure cloud performance, security, and cost efficiency

Support CI/CD pipelines, cloud-native development workflows, and maintain clear documentation of architectures and best practices.

You bring
-
5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., ECS, EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, IAM)

Strong experience with infrastructure-as-code, including AWS CDK (Terraform is a plus)

Proficiency in Python or another programming language for cloud automation and development

Solid understanding of cloud architecture, security, networking, and DevOps best practices

Experience working in collaborative environments with engineers, researchers, and product teams

Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts; experience with Azure, hybrid cloud, or data/ML workflows is a plus
