We have an immediate opportunity for a Creation Laboratory Technician at our NYC facility. His/her mission will be to support our small-scale compounding requests for local and global Perfumers formulations. Compounding and delivering an accurate/quality product. Maintains a clean and orderly working laboratory environment according to cGMP. Assures compliance of HS&E procedures and proactively contributes to the improvement of lab safety. Accomplishes tasks by considering all areas involved, no matter how small. Shows concern for all aspects of the job. Accurately checks for processes and tasks. Excellent communication skills to foster healthy collaboration between team members and requestors. Makes customers and their needs a primary focus of their actions. Develops and sustains productive customer relationships. Strong computer skills required to compound, check availability of raw materials, post batches, review inventory and print labels.
Your key responsibilities
- Maintain high on-time reliability of all of the facility’s utilities including: steam boilers, chillers, air compressors, cooling towers, process water systems, hot oil systems, plant fire protection systems, and hot glycol systems through close communication with the facility’s maintenance and engineering departments.
- Monitor boiler operations and maintain required logs. Identify and correct any boiler operating problems
- Monitor daily utility equipment operations and ensure correction of any mechanical issues. Monitor plant fire systems and implement any required PM
- Support maintenance in repairs of minor process equipment when needed. Maintain containment ponds at appropriate levels in conjunction with QHSE and maintain equipment histories in CMMS
- Troubleshoot and correct the facility’s utility systems problems in conjunction with production and engineering.
- Ensure that the filial’s utility systems are operated and maintained in a manner consistent with both Firmenich and filial specific safety policies and procedures and all regulatory requirements.

You bring
- BA/BS in Related Science Field
- Previous experience in a perfumery or FMCG company strongly preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office Applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
The salary scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. Salary: $50,000-$65,000.
In addition to base salary, we also offer a comprehensive total rewards package, inclusive of annual incentive pay, a retirement savings plan, health care coverage, paid time off, recognition programs and a broad range of other benefits.
