Manager, Operational Excellence (Belvidere, NJ)

Manager, Operational Excellence/Belvidere, NJ/On-Site

 

Identifies and delivers site improvement projects in order to create value for DSM. Drives and increases the maturity of the Belvidere site in Continuous Improvements to the next level. Develops people with respect to continuous improvement/six sigma by means of training and coaching.

 

You Will:

  • Act as Facilitator of the Site Steering Committee that oversees and directs the Site’s continuous improvement journey with respect to people, practices and performance.
  • Monitor and report on best practice implementation and performance progress to Site Management.
  • Direct and coach the Site Trainer – Continuous Improvement.
  • Lead area/operational diagnostics to identify value with the DICI toolbox.
  • Lead CI projects such that objectives and milestones are met, within agreed budget and timing, utilizing the Lean Six Sigma methodology.
  • Develop, mentor and coach Green Belts to successfully execute significant improvement projects and professionalizes DSM workforce. 
  • Give and receive timely, honest, data driven feedback with all teammates on site to influence tangible savings and drive cultural change.
  • Manage and report on the site DICI Improve and Value portfolio of the site in collaboration with site finance and measure sheet owners.
  • Support multiple facilities and spend time supporting DICI in other DSM locations. Time spent in these locations will be determined jointly with site director and regional DICI support.

You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline required. Master’s a plus.
  • 5-10 years of manufacturing experience, Chemical Process Industry preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Trained, Green Belt Minimum, Black Belt preferred.
  • Project Management Skills
  • Proven proficiency in Lean problem solving, root cause and waste reducing tools, processes and concepts.
  • Strong team player and leadership with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines.
  • Passion for world class operations, best practices and people development in CI.
  • Ability to switch between ‘Helicopter View” with site management and ‘hands on’ in local teams.
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead others through change.
  • Strong Understanding of Manufex Work Processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with individuals and groups at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Mini tab, MS Project etc.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Skilled in organization, prioritization, and attention to detail.
