Internship: Group Real Estate & Workplace - Functional Planning

Are you a motivated student with a passion for strategic planning, project coordination, and business analysis? Join the Group Real Estate & Workplace (GREW) team at dsm-firmenich and help translate high-level strategic decisions into actionable initiatives.
This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in strategic execution, reporting, and leadership communication, while contributing to meaningful projects in a dynamic, international environment.


What You’ll Do

As an intern in Functional Planning, you will:
•    Contribute to strategic initiatives such as long-range planning, Group and business ambitions – translating them into actionable functional plans.
•    Support the GREW strategic roadmap by embedding plans, tracking milestones, and helping define SMART OKRs.
•    Coordinate projects across workstreams, ensuring alignment and timely delivery.
•    Prepare dashboards, reports, and executive presentations to support leadership decision-making.
•    Contribute to business cases, investment proposals, and operational improvements, linking strategic intent to practical implementation.

Key Achievements

By the end of your internship, you will have:
•    Defined, documented, and begun to take ownership of the Functional Planning Lead role within GREW, turning strategic decisions into tangible initiatives.
•    Delivered a structured report and an executive-style presentation for both your university assessment and internal dsm-firmenich use.
•    Gained hands-on experience in strategic planning and execution within a leading global organization.

What You Bring


•    Field of Study: Business, Economics, Data Analytics, or Engineering, with a strong interest in strategy, performance, and program management.
•    Experience: Ideally some exposure to consulting, project work, or relevant extracurricular activities.
•    Skills: Strong organizational and analytical abilities, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a proactive, collaborative mindset.


Eligibility criteria and conditions: 
•    Language requirements: Fluent in English, spoken and written
•    Final Selection Day: 12.01.2026 in dsm-firmenich office in Maastricht
•    Start of the internship: 02.02.2026
•    Duration: 5 months
•    Studies: currently enrolled at a Dutch university or applied science university (hogeschool). Your university will cosign the internship agreement
•    Location: dsm-firmenich Maastricht office 
•    Compensation: Internship salary is €550 per month
