Job Title: Associate Production Manager (Powders)

As an Associate Production Manager, you will make sure goods and services are produced safely, cost-effectively, and on time and that they meet the required quality standards. The main role of an associate production manager is to oversee the manufacturing process within the powders plant and to ensure that production lines run without any problems and with minimum downtime.

Key responsibilities:

Manage and support SHEQ initiatives and objectives
Cost management of products and assist with new product costing models
Analyse budgets and continuously control production costs and identify/rectify waste measures
Manage all activities within the powders production process, including maintenance and the workforce
Handle logistics, warehousing and stock of raw materials used in production
Manage all teams within your powders department (contracts/leave/pay)
Create and implement organisational/production changes on an operative level
Liaise with other managers to formulate objectives and understand requirements
Organize workflow to meet specifications and deadlines
Monitor production to resolve issues
Supervise and evaluate performance of production personnel (quality inspectors, workers etc.)
Determine amount of necessary resources (workforce, raw materials etc.)
Ensure output meets quality standards
Enforce health and safety precautions
Report to upper management

You bring:

A Diploma in Engineering or equivalent
5 years’ experience and manufacturing environment with 2 years leading teams.
A strong knowledge of SAP and stock management processes
Excellent communication, numeracy and computer literacy skills
Good people management skills and management of staff
Identifying problems and implement preventative strategies to minimize risk
