Associate Principal Scientist in Orosensory Perception

Job title - Associate Principal Scientist in Orosensory Perception (80423)

Location – Satigny, Geneva, Switzerland  

 

We are seeking a scientist with deep expertise in Orosensation including Sensory Methods, and

Psychophysics as well as an understanding of the underlying Biology. This role focuses on

advancing our understanding of the perceptual, cognitive, and mechanistic processes that

underlie all aspects of orosensory perception. The successful candidate will lead a team and

innovative research program, collaborate with multidisciplinary R&D teams, and translate

rigorous perceptual science into actionable insights for innovation. If you are passionate about

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Scope innovative solutions and influence the evolution of the company’s R&D strategy in
  • perception and cognitive neuroscience.
  • Scope, manage, and lead a broad range of sensory, behavioral, and psychophysical
  • studies to advance our understanding of orosensation and drive business innovation
  • Plan, execute, and lead innovative experimental paradigms that probe temporal
  • dynamics, mixture interactions, and other aspects of orosensory perception.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data using advanced statistical and computational
  • approaches.
  • Present results and ideas to peers and business partners; produce high-quality lab
  • reports, manuscripts, and patent applications.
  • Collaborate with and manage cross-functional teams to integrate research findings into
  • product development and innovation strategies
  • Contribute to the evolution of methodological standards and best practices in
  • orosensory science within the organization.
  • Manage and develop a team of scientists through clear objectives and capability
  • building to support high performance and future growth.

You Bring:

  • Ph.D. in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Sensory Science or a related field.
  • Min. 10 years of postgraduate research experience in orosensory perception (taste,
  • texture, trigeminal) with a strong track-record of scientific publications.
  • Min. 3 years of experience in an industrial setting and in creating business value from
  • scientific findings.
  • Proficiency in sensory, behavioral, and psychophysical research methods and advanced
  • statistical analysis of orosensory data.
  • Proficiency in a programming or scripting language (e.g., R, Python, Matlab) will be a plus
  • Fluency in English.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Track record of people management and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic
  • Environment.
