Application Scientist Medical Nutrition (f/m/d)

Temporary assignment for 12 months in Global Application Lab, Kaiseraugst, Switzerland 

What You’ll Do :

As Application Scientist for Medical Nutrition, you will be a key part of our diverse team and ensure the contribution to innovation strategy by designing and developing recipes to ensure innovation for Health Nutrition and Care in the end customer segment Medical Nutrition. You will be one of the innovative minds behind planning, executing, and reporting technical trials, working closely with other D-F teams and external partners. We expect you enjoy conducting technical trials in the lab and have the leadership and ability to delegate it. In this role, you will be supported by other colleagues to shape the growth of our company through innovation.  

Key responsibilities: 

• Development of medical nutrition recipes  

• Creation of liquid/powders prototypes in the global application lab incorporating D-F ingredients (e.g. omega algal lipids, flavors, plant based proteins like canola pro and vitamin/minerals as well as amino acids) 

• Have a very good understanding on technical suitability/regulatory status of key ingredients for FSMP (Food for Special Medical Purposes) 

• Providing technical support to other stakeholders (i.e., Innovation Management, Production, QCA, etc.) and customers on application related matters  

• Providing technical input on needs of industrial medical nutrition manufacturing into our innovation projects  

• Adhere to the specific procedures, guidelines and regulations with regards to hygiene, quality, environment, safety, sustainability and other relevant standards

You Bring:

• Education and experience as an Application scientist 

• Proven experience in liquid protein drinks (plant based or dairy or both) 

• At least 3 years' experience in Medical Nutrition industry 

• Technical expertise in medical nutrition manufacturing and product development 

• Business Acumen 

• Willingness to relocate to Kaiseraugst Switzerland for 6 months- 1y (we will fund relocation) 

• Fluency in English (both verbal and written) for daily contact with internal and external stakeholders 

• Strong communication & time-management skills 

• Solution-oriented, independent and pro-active way of working, ability to work in a multicultural and interdisciplinary team.
